Prince William didn’t bow to Queen Camilla at the Commonwealth Service Day, much to the confusion of viewers, but there’s a simple explanation as to why he didn’t make the polite gesture at the event.

His uncle, the Duke of Edinburgh, greeted Camilla with a kiss and curtsey at the Commonwealth Service, while Prince William surprisingly didn’t appear to bow to Her Majesty in the same way.

Simple explanation for no curtsy

When a member of the Royals does not bow or curtsy to Her Majesty, it is because they have already seen them earlier that day. This explains why Prince William did not greet Camilla like his uncle.

If it is their first meeting that day, Prince William has to bow to the queen and Prince Charles. Those who watched the event accused the Prince of breaking royal protocol, but this was simply not the case.

Camilla and Prince William’s ‘close bond’

Prince William and Camilla showed “deep trust” and “authenticity” at the Commonwealth event, the body language expert says, and “have definitely developed a mutual respect and a close bond.”

Stanton continued: “It’s clear from the way they look and interact between each other that there is a deep respect between them. She cares for William deeply and he cares for her.”

“From the shots yesterday, it’s apparent that the pair have a tight connection as their eye contact with each other was completely engaged. William and Camilla clearly have a great relationship,” he added.
